This blog is intended to be a non-formal posting space for musings on Chinese legal history (or, for that matter, any relevant area of scholarship) and the recent academic literature. Pretty much any subject is fair game, since legal history, while a somewhat small field, overlaps with so many social sciences. My own research is inevitably expanding into fields like economics and sociology, which I never would have imagined even a year ago. Comparative perspectives, of course, occupy a particularly fond place in my heart.
I do hope to post new notes and thoughts with some frequency, as soon as they strike me and form into some mildly coherent shape. I also enthusiastically welcome guest postings (not necessarily academic), so please feel free to contact me if you're interested.
